Hi, Have had PowerBi working on this laptop for more than a year, basically integrating with MSAccess 2013 32 bit successfully (need to stay 32 bit so MSAccess will integrate with Quickbooks QBFC interface). Recently had to remove my volume license MSAccess and reinstall with a standard retail license. Now i get a message that the OLEDB provider is not registered when i try to refresh (again, all similar databases and powerbi files as before) Any idea? I have tried to reinstall both programs. I havent seen clear instructions on how to re-register the provider - many seem like rabbit holes that seem more complicated than it should be, esp since i didnt have to do any of it before. thanks for your assistance. below is the full message. Note both PowerBi and MSAccess 2013 are 32 bit. Microsoft Access: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. The 32-bit version of the Access Database Engine OLEDB provider may be required to read 'xxxx.accdb'. June 21, 2022 No Comments You don’t need to spend lot of time for research on which is best power BI alternative. already you have reached right article, Helical Insight is the best alternative of Open Source Microsoft Power BIAre you looking for a best Microsoft Power BI Alternative that You’ll Love?.Whether you have a SaaS offering or an onpremise product, Open Source BI product Helical Insight has got you covered.Free for 30 days. No credit Card/ Debit card required.Get your 30 Days Trail VersionWhen it comes to BI solutions the first name we hear in market is Microsoft PowerBI. And why not, the tool really has some good features. It can be integrated easily with other applications of Microsoft stack. It provides rich visualizations, self-service interface, interactive dashboards, all in one package. However, the learning curve is pretty steep, some functions are placed at difficult to reach places, and even some of the options are not that easy to understand. Further, if you are not the Microsoft product user (like MS Office etc.) much of the integration features are not useful either. If you want to share the reports and dashboard with your clients, you may not be able to. Users with the same email domains only have access. Eventually you end up having higher cost of ownership of this too. Due to limitations or otherwise, if you are looking for a feature rich, cost effective alternative to PowerBI, Helical Insight is the best off the shelf, Open-source alternative to PowerBI. What else, it also saves your pocket. The enterprise edition saves about 90% of the cost as compared to any other tool in the market, without compromising on features. The pricing is flat, that means you do not need to pay anything extra when you add up users, there is no limits on data interactions/reload, no limits to number of reports or dashboards. It comes with features of SSO integration, embedding, white labeling, email and scheduling. You can share your reports and dashboards to your clients as well. Its robust inbuilt row-level security feature takes care of data security as well. According to your description, my understanding is that you want to use PowerBI desktop to connect to MariaDB source. For MariaDB, we can create an ODBC source for it.But based on my test, I found that when I use MariaDB ODBC driver of any version to create the ODBC source, it will not display the table list. Here is an issue opened: , as a workaround, we can use the MySQL ODBC driver to create the source. Please refer to the following steps:1. Download the MySQL ODBC driver from: and install it. (the platform 32/64-bit of ODBC driver depends on your PowerBI platform)2. Open ODBC data source tool (32/64-bit depends on the PowerBI desktop platform), add a new one, select the mysql odbc unicode driver. Then type the connection information.3. After that, open PowerBI desktop, get data -> ODBC, find this source you created. Then you can import data to PowerBI.Regards,Lydia Community Support Team _ Lydia ZhangIf this post helps, then please consider Accept it as the solution to help the other members find it more quickly.Microsoft PowerBI For Dummies : Free Download, Borrow, and
