Without much investigation. But I do see your point. Moving photos out of various services and even restoring to your own computer photos that may have been lost does seem more difficult than it could be. I don't think Flickr is alone in not offering this highway back though. Since you are on a roll critiquing the various methods that have been suggested maybe you would like to take a look at Migratr and see how it performs. Sounds good in the reviews. Posted ages ago. You seem to be missing the point, so I'll state it again - don't rely on ANY online site as your sole storage method!! Doesn't matter what they said, implied, or inferred. - you just DON'T do it. Surely, that's just common sense? There are third-party applications available for use - FlickrDown, and Flickr Back-up. If you've got the time to download your images from Flickr, or post here in the Forum, then you've got the time to use one of those programs to download. You've already stated that Migratr looks interesting, well - try it!I'll ask again - if your photos are genuinely that important, why didn't you: a) keep back-up copies before even uploading them to Yahoo Photos? b) download them all to your computer before migrating from Yahoo Photos?Your own words: "..online back-ups are the norm for many people...". That's exactly the point I'm trying to make - back-ups!! If that's how you'd used Yahoo Photos, there'd be no problem, would there? Posted ages ago.
